There is now a Youtube video by Dan Worrall clearly illustrating this point:

+1 for this. Both for metering and for airwindows.

I so much want to use AirWindows Console series plugins as post fader.
Youre supposed to mix into the plugin when its placed on a channel, so it has to be the last thing leaving the track and going into the Bus.
The fader needs to be before the plugin.

Right now im having another parent channel with the Console7Channel so I can mix into it. Also Console7Channel has a fader which is horizontal and not vertical. Would be so convinient If I could use Reaper's fader to control Console7Channel fader if I could disconnect the fader from its primary use.

Anybody else wants something like this?

Airwindows users should be getting on chris to just add an input gain slider to the channel plug-in. There’s no reason he couldn’t/shouldn’t and it’s very easy. He knows how, he uses sliders. Just a thought. I know this FR applies to much more but the Airwindows thing can be taken care of from his end, too (and maybe quicker)

Console7 has a slider in it, but again you cannot use the channels fader.
Youd have to mix INTO the plugin.

For this I have a parent track with Console7 or PurestConsole parenting the channel with all my plugins so I can mix into the Console plugin. And I also pan into the plugin.

To send to your revers and delays youd have to go pre Console plugin too if youre going to use the send fader, cos the Console plugins are calibrated to work only when no fader adjustments are involved. Pan counts as a fader too in this case.

I think you misunderstand how the console/buss works.
There can be input gain on the channel, it will have no effect between console & buss.
It would be exactly the same as post fader efx.
