Items in higher numbered tracks replace lower...
When doing video editing in Reaper, you can choose to have "Items in higher number tracks replace lower". What this means is that if I have a video item on track 1 and one on track 2, any overlap shows the video from track 2. This is fine.
But... It also means that video processing on track 2 affects the video item on track 1. And this is cumulative, video processing on track 3 also affects the video item on track 1. Is this really as it should be? Is there any way around it (except for muting the higher numbered tracks when the item on track 1 plays)? Reaper v5.981/x64 portable install, W7x64

Steps to reproduce...
I tried to do a licecap of this, but I could not get licecap to record the video window. You can test this by doing the following.
1. Create a new project 2. Put a video item on track 1 3. Set the cursor in the middle of the video item so it shows in the video window 4. Create track 2 5. Put the video processor on track 2 6. Select the "Basic helpers: Brightness/Contrast" Now tweak the brightness and contrast for track 2 and watch how the video item on track 1 is affected.

For videos you don't have independent tracks. Instead the full video- stream goes from the top to the lowest track (or the opposite if you choose the opposite in the preferences). And every fx - from the top to the lowest track - will be processed. |

So now I have that preset on ALL tracks. It works, but maybe there could be a more elegant way to achieve this (what is to me, more reasonable) behavior. Maybe a project setting?
