Default JSFX: Hide parameters in drop-down panel

Nobody was excited about my sooper awesome mid/side pin routing idea, so lemme try my luck with another one. :-)

I like making and using JSFX's, and I also like JSFX's that have lots of sliders and other parameters. They take up lots of screen real estate, though.

It'd be nice to have a little twisty arrow thing to collapse the parameters.

It'd be nicer to be able to set the default state inside the JSFX.

It'd be nicer still to have some parameters always visible, and some in the concealable panel.

It'd be even nicer still (possibly overkill) to have multiple panels.

I don't have a problem with the idea, but I think the argument you'll hear is that this can all be done by the plugin developer. If you're writing the plug, or really wanna get in and edit it, you can just build your own GUI.

lolz-- i like the ideas of course like all ideas-
but we have some sort of reaper realities and nightmarish scenes that are prevalent.
the idea of hundreds,if not thousands of seperate effects-even IF they are sooopar dooopar great-can be quite mind blowing and even offputting....so,try this idea.
how about cockos make the>

"plug in of all plug ins"

^with all the very very best parts of each js,vst code they can gather in 1 place--make it uber powerfull+completely logical+intuitive for uses to any student or seasoned user=win.

how about 0="love",1 "15",2 "30",3 "40",4 game.

Totally, but man, 95% of the appeal of JSFX for me is the ability to whip up an effect without having to code a GUI. It would take 4 seconds for me to type "ext_collapse_sliders=1;" vs many hours (?) to code up my own collapsing widget of slider widgets in the graphic window for every effect I wanted to make. Not to mention all the extra code distracting from the essence of the effect; 50 lines to code some distortion effect with a lot of parameters, 2000 lines to handle the collapsing widgets, etc.

To me this seems on its surface like a very high-yield low-dev-effort FR. :-)

there is a whole community ready to input what they can- the whole idea of community projects is all the peoples get involved--do what they can,when they can,to the best of their own abilities***
cockos could have the most powerfull plugin in the world today-if more folks worked together,as a whole (summed) team.
code=npz
debugging=npz
gui=npz
best daw in the world,including the very best plug in the world.... what else could 1 want,or actually need?
game,set+match.
