Default Plugins won't appear in Reaper

Getting back into Reaper again having wasted 20yrs with Sonar. I've loaded Guitar Rig 5, Dimension Pro, and BassMidi VSTi into Reaper with no problems, and it all works great.........really pleased.
I then tried to load my favourite reverbs, Sonitus FX & Lexicon Pantheon. I've tried everything, rescanned etc., but they just won't appear in Reaper 'add FX' like the other plugins. I've had Sonitus working in Reaper a few years back.
Any ideas about what to try next?

are they 32 or 64 bit & is your reaper 32 or 64. If you have a mismatch it could be that you haven't got automatic bridging enabled (optional functionality when you install)

My OS is 32 bit (but I'll be reinstalling soon to 64).
Meanwhile, I'm running Reaper 32, and I think those plugins are 32.
But I had sonitus running OK a few years back, and I have those other plugins running OK. Auto bridging is enabled.
Sometimes I think my PC is haunted.

Double-check exactly where those missing plug-ins are installed and make sure that their paths are included in the paths in Reaper's Preferences.

You might also try a "Clear cache and rescan" (just in case there was a problem when those plug-ins were scanned previously).

Thanks for the suggestions, all of which I've already tried a number of times.
Still open to any other ideas about what's going on.

Just a shot in the dark here but do you still have Sonar installed?

My memory is fuzzy but, perhaps, those specific plugs won't run without having Sonar installed.

EDIT: I think I had some similar issue with Sonar plugs in the past but I can't recall the details.

I just found this info from Cakewalk. It says that Lexicon Pantheon will not work with any host but Sonar.

One other thought:

I think the Sonitus plugs are DX and not VST so, when you've selected the option to "add FX' to a track, make sure you're searching under "All Plugins" as opposed to "VST".

Thanks dug, & yeh I checked all through the plugins, but nothing!

Your link explains the Lexicon issue, and yes I installed Sonar from my disc in order to install the plugins.

It's weird, as I had Sonitus on reaper a couple of years back, and for a long time it's been my favourite reverb, especially for solo acoustic guitar.

Ah well, time to move on I guess! Funnily enough, I was looking up VSt reverbs and came across a version of what was my favourite hardware/analogue reverb over 30 years ago when I was using open reel tape, & later cassette based home studio; the Alesis Microverb! I've still got the instructions (and the unit with PSU), & have tried out the VSt in Reaper & it sounds very nice, and without the background hiss of the analogue version!

I've also not delved into the Reaper reverbs fully yet, and I suppose I could get used to them and get the results I want in time.
