why doesn't automation show up in the stereo track waveform?

is there a way to see the effects of automation on the waveform?


i clicked rendered as stereo after automating pan and volume but still shows the automation below..instead of becoming just 1 waveform

Only item or take envelopes affect the displayed waveform. Not ttack envelopes.

Volume (Pre-FX) updates the waveform in real time.

IIRC there is an option to show automation over the top of the waveform and as Judders stated, pre-FX or item automation changes the waveform - but is that what the user actually needs or are they misunderstanding the application? Some want to see the waveform result for any automation item which is sort of a separate thing.
