"Loop source" with "MIDI overdub" seems not to work?

Hey there,

since I am new here, I am not sure if this might be a bug or (most likely) I am just too new to Reaper. After this other thread of mine, I now discovered that recorded MIDI items are not automatically in "loop source" mode anymore, even though the option "Loop source for new MIDI items" is enabled in the settings.

I already searched the forum, but I could not find a clue what ios going on here. Maybe someone can help me with this?
