Default 3.14 + Video - MAC Pro - PROBLEMS

I am getting intermittent slowing/speeding up of video and related audio playback. It's usually no longer than 1 second long. It's a DV video file converted to .mov and about 6.5 minutes long. Another odd thing about this is that the video track shows 0.00% CPU usage, is that normal? In further testing with a different video file, H.264 .mov, 47.5 minutes long, the audio sync is WAY off. Starts off OK but slips pretty quickly. Anyone else seeing this kind of trouble with video?

Confirmed.
Imported Quicktime video and the audio is playing back slower than it should with some speed ups and slow downs.

Hi

Thanks for the preliminary video support!! I'm v-e-r-y excited!

I'm running Reaper V3.14 on a MacBook Pro under OS 10.5.8.

My first video import (via Insert/Media File) was a short 30 sec QT Video with the DV-NTSC Codec. The clip imported... the video window opened ... the video played back. Unfortunately the audio on the movie turned into a weird shrieking sound!

The sample rate of the project was correct (48K) .... other audio imported played back OK, at the same time as the video and the shriek (phew).

But at least we have an image!! Woo Hoo... go devs go! :-)

Best

Lee

I've experienced the sync issue as well.

We just fixed some sync issues on OSX for the next version of Reaper. Let us know if it still happens when 3.141 is released.

just tried out 3.141 with video. not yet a reaper user but have
been lurking and checking it out. i loaded a couple of wavs and
created a video track, loading in a mov in photojpeg codec. it's
timelapse i shot in australia earlier this year, about 12 minutes
worth at 2k resolution (2048x1536). the first part played ok.
later in the file, maybe half way through, it would start to play,
then the image would freeze. did this repeatedly.

I'm using Reaper 3.1415 and the same problems with .mov playback occurs as first described in this thread. Using PowerMac G5 2.7 Ghz 2.5 GB RAM with latest 10.5 Leopard.

I get a few picture freezes like this when I click and drag a time selection around to scrub the video(without the playhead). And that's at 512x288 photojpegs quicktimes. This seeking is not optimal just yet. It's too easy for Reaper to freeze the picture. I get this on the PC version as well(on an i7 machine).

The playback freeze is worrying. Photojpeg is not a heavy performance codec at all.
