Default why did this track spontaneously turn blue

I've been trying to learn Reaper and doing ok with it, but a few days ago I found that a single track had (1) turned midnight blue and acquired a white border; (2) lost most of its visible amplitude; (3) developed strange, intermittent volume drop-outs. I'm attaching a screen shot (the problem track is at the bottom). I'm not aware of having performed any kind of action on this track, so I'm really mystified as to what's happened here. I did search the forums for any posts describing a similar issue, but I came up empty. Hopefully someone can help out a poor n00b! Thanks in advance for whatever wisdom you can offer.

Looks to me that you might have accidentally switched it to spectogram view

Right click on item, choose Spectral edits. Is Show spectrogram ticked? If so, untick it. Also, right click on TCP, check Track performance options ... tick Prevent spectrogram.

If that doesn't work, Options, Peaks display mode, Show normal peaks.

.... and if that doesn't work, View, Peaks display settings, Peaks

Default follow-up

Thank you for the 100% helpful advice. Also thank you for refraining from saying "okay boomer," in response to my initial query, though such a response was perhaps richly deserved (even just finding the "spectral edits" option took me an embarrassingly long time--and the actual point of spectral edits in general is another embarrassing bit of my ignorance that will wait for another day to address).

Ha ha, speaking as one Boomer to another ... OK Boomer . You probably won't ever need to know. It's a method that can be used to edit out unwanted frequencies from an item.
