Default Volume automation, how to work fast with it?

Hi,

I need to modulate the volume of a sine tone in different ways. Please look at the attached picture.

I was hoping that I could use a plugin tonegenerator and then work with the automation similar to an audio object. Time stretch, copy&paste etc. As of now the automation is not linked with objects in the tracks.

I am looking for precise control over the volume and will then be exporting short clips with different patterns.

Very thankful for help!

If you really want multiple "patterns"/"schemes" (aka functions) for volume (aka amplitude) modulation you might be better off with using modulation plugins than using DAW automation. Either find something existing (e.g. from ReaRack: use ReaPack and/or search the "Script" forum here) or do a dedicated JSFX yourself.

BTW.: Beware that harsh amplitude modulation results in audible artifacts !

I assume Automation Items, which is implemented in Reaper 5.50 (which can be officially released any second now) is the thing you're looking for.

Checkout this video i made awhile ago about Automation Items, just as taster for ya:

Hey guys, thanks a lot. Perfect for my needs.

Also, by actually reading the manual (duh... ) I got an idea on how this works.
