Your lack of interest for themes is obviously caused by unexpressed emotions.
You should get a prescription for Walter pills ! :-)
Suddenly all your world will start shinning with the brightest themers colors !
A doze of Circus is highly recommended !

I forced myself to use Justin's "Oldschool 0.1x", which, to quote the author:
" ... it's ugly as hell"
... for a week, and it was like therapy.

oh no wait... that is some dangerous advice...
CIRCUS is not for everyone... it's use is prescribed ONLY in instances of those suffering from advanced Themeitis and even then it can have dangerous side effects, including temporary visual overloading, elevated heart rate, sickening of the blood and hypertension, nervous system spasms, finger twitching, and many other undesired symptoms ...
If you expecience any of these for longer than 4 hours, you should insult your medical professional either immediately or at least, after awhile...

Obviously, our subject is in denial. He could easily have downloaded one of those great free themes or use the default theme...
But he made a donation for Albert's theme...

If only... I have a laundry list of great themes that opens up in Reaper.
Just finding myself losing interest in twiddling with them.
Maybe because a brief writing drought seems to have ended recently!

What theme to use?
I agree with Ivansc. The only thing that I care about is slider faders for volume not knobs and visibility when I use a laptop.
This may be because I never used any other DAW. Nor have I ever used hardware mixers.
I do love reading this forum to see what everyone is doing or proposing.

Along similar lines, I find that I use the Default Reaper theme most of the time, but as long as the theme isn't hard on the eyes, it doesn't seem to matter much.

I sincerely hope a big update with reaper 5. I want more themeables elements. the end of the theme will always stay as you are missing something ... or simply you've only given a coat of paint ...

now thats what I call an unprofessional attitude.
in the end you make music with whatever you have at hand and use just the equipment thats around, like the other unprofessional guy named Alan Parsons without noticing the price tag of the equipment or the brand and the amount of love it gets at GearSlutz?
serious .. I think you are on the right way ... :-)))

God dang it, I opened this thread hoping to see a cool new theme called 'Heresy'.
As far as flatter themes go, Janne's Universe 2014 Dark Version is the absolute best I have come across so far. It is simply elegant and well thought out in virtually every respect.

Me too. Live, I use my own theme, but in the studio it's default 3 all day long.
