Default BBCSO Discover on 64 bit Windows 10

Hi guys,

Has anyone got this combination to work?

I allowed it to install in its default folders and have added every darned path I can think of in REAPER, and still I get the message "NO PRESETS SELECTED" on that awful black screen of theirs. I've tried all their Repair functions, etc to no avail, but judging by the number of unanswered queries on their support pages, they have no intention of providing any decent level of support.

It may be free, but that is not the way to induce users to buy an upgarde. I can confirm that the, admittedly paid for, Garritan Personal Orchestra 5 works fine, but I really would like the chance to try out the BBCSO package. Has anyone any thoughts or experiences on this please? Many thanks in advance!

Yes. I thought that one or other version (32 bit VSTi, 64 bit VSTi, VST3i) of either BBCSO or LABS wasn't working, but I got all six to load just now. They take longer to load than any other VST on this system - sometimes quite a lot longer - and they sometimes flash "NO PRESETS SELECTED" on that awful black screen of theirs just before they finally turn up. (This is forgivable, I suppose - they're big libraries, after all, and they were free.)

So, three things to try:

1) Wait. I'd give it a minute, at least, before you give up on it.... not that I'd use a VST if it took that long to load, but if it works, that gives you a starting point from which to troubleshoot, IYSWIM.

2) Try both VSTi and VST3i versions. One of them might work.

3) Stop any other programs you have running, then try.

Thanks, Fex, I'll try your ideas. Ironically a friend in UK installed them on a 32 bit machine and they worked straight away - same defaults & obviously we've compared notes, but so far getting nowehere.
