Yup, that's because of this line:
Code:
OnTrackSelection GoZone Channel
I'm guessing the floating fx is on a Selected Track right ?

I have a "Console1" folder for the Console1 .zon.
I just tried moving it in there but it still doesn't work. Is that what you meant?

Have a look at CSI/Zones/Console1 in the build supplied CSI folder.
See how the Console1.zon is there along with any FX Zones for the Console1.

If it helps to know, buttons that should be mapped to the fx are still active in the Channel Zone when the fx is open.
(just tried it with another - same results)

I'm attempting both floating and fxchain. I wouldn't mind taking the Channel zone out really - that is how it was set up initially. Maybe just put it all under "home"? Lotsa stuff tho
edit: so I just tried this ^ - still same results.

Cool, that looks good.
If you are using the latest build you should also check Auto Map Focused FX on the Surface config panel.

So AutoMap grabs all the fx in a session, correct? Very nice.

No, it just turns on the mapping, just like ToggleMapsSends, or ToggleMapFX, only this is the equivalent to ToggleMapFocusedFX.
These are just the options we discussed earlier today, so that you don't have to waste a button, if you always want them on.

First of all, did you get CSI.ini fixed up ?
It broke with the latest build.

Apologies for misunderstanding - when I checked the auto map options earlier, upon closing the dialog, CSI created 6 new fxzone files for me.
So I threw away the CSI.ini and rebuilt a new page with a new surface. I'm afraid it's still the same behavior. Mapped channel buttons and volume still active behind either floating fx or fxchain - no linked parameters.

Hey Geoff and everyone, here is a workflow idea I just thought of, wondering if it's possible. I'm thinking of having a 1-track controller like xtouch one, for example, to control just one track in a project template...along with everything else working as it always does now. Pretty static track in terms of position. Is that possible?
I don't have one yet, but if it worked it would be the elegant talkback solution I'm looking for.

Aahh!! I just put it together you got the sends "auto-toggle" mapping bit in there you had mentioned earlier. (lol - I'm pretty tired right now)
So you know - that part works GREAT!! :-)
Thank you Geoff!

You mean generating RawFX files ?
Yeah, they are 2 different concepts, perhaps we have one named incorrectly ?

OK, got to take a break now, we will solve this, it's just something out of place.
Meanwhile, perhaps try other FX, like ReaComp, there is already a Console1 .zon file for it.
Maybe also try using Selected instead of Focused and see what happens.

You could add it in like any controller, then scroll so you can Pin the track you want to stay put.

Icon platform Nano
Good morning (at least over here)!
I did test the Nano yesterday but it was to late to comment on it.
I assigned the Track button to ToggleScrollLink an what shall I say, it works.
Also, jogwheel - zoom in/out works when the zoom button is enganged (even lights up)
The Jogwheel sends button code (90) if the zoom button is engaged, representing key arrows.
Sends code (b0) if zoom is engaged and eventually I got it at least to Scroll View up
Code:
Zone Buttons
JogWheelRotary Reaper 40138
/JogWheelRotaryCW Reaper 40138
/JogWheelRotaryCCW Reaper 40139
Zoom+Up Reaper 40111
Zoom+Down Reaper 40112
Zoom+Left Reaper 1011
Zoom+Right Reaper 1012
ZoneEnd
using .mst definition
Code:
Widget JogWheelRotary
Encoder b0 3c 7f
FB_Encoder b0 3c 7f b0 3c 00
WidgetEnd
/Widget JogWheelRotaryCW
/ Press b0 3c 01
/WidgetEnd
/Widget JogWheelRotaryCCW
/ Press b0 3c 41
/WidgetEnd
Scrub does not work and does not light up.
Scribble is blank.
After some testing, the Nano Fader is suddenly not functioning any more,
putting up heavy resistance and making very strange whining sounds when I try to move it.
Have to go into this. But have no time right now.
Best regards,

Mackie MCU and XT, I've noticed if I open a new project I can hear one of the faders whine, if I push them all up, they will all reset and the whining stops.
Doesn't seem to be one particular fader, just a little random.
anyone else hearing this?

Ok - I've got something here..
Trying out different layouts, I've managed to get the FX mapping working (yay!) - but ONLY if the plug is on the 1st insert of the track. But it DOES work in both chained and floating layouts. What thoughts have you? :-)
edit: - uh-oh - I think I may have just run into that alpha-tester stuff you're looking for. Lots of Reaper-crashing. Definitely CSI related. Details to follow...
edit: edit: So the crashing I was experiencing appears to have been resulting from a missing "FocusedFXTrackNavigator" from one of the fx zon files.
But I'm still trying to pin down the behavior of which fx instances respond and which don't. It seems pretty random atm.

Found something else!
Are there any issues noted regarding hidden tracks?
I have one particular track parked in between others in this project that's been in a hidden state (both tcp/mcp). When hidden, it appears to disable all fx mapping on tracks below it (to the right on the MCP). But when made visible, all appear to be working again.

So I'm really close to having a really solid working setup here (not going to worry about that hidden track bug atm - working around).
My next (and maybe final) step on the Console1 controller is this:
I am attempting to create a different zone for some un-assigned parameters when an FX window is in focus. Those parameters are PageUp, PageDown, and PhaseInv(Bypass) (and maybe a few others once I get these working).
So with no FX windows in focus, when using PageUp/Down would select neighboring tracks and PhaseInv would reverse Phase (all of which are already working) - but when an FX Chain is in focus, the Page buttons would switch to selecting next/previous FX in the chain, and PhaseInv would bypass the selected FX (none yet working).
I feel like I'm close, but I definitely need help here...
Code:
Zone Home
// OnTrackSelection MapSelectedTrackSendsToWidgets
// OnFXFocus MapFocusedTrackFXToWidgets
// OnFXFocus MapSelectedTrackFXToWidgets
OnFXFocus GoZone FocusedFX
DisplayOn Reaper _S&M_TOGLFXCHAIN
SelectedTrackNavigator
PageDown Reaper 40286
PageUp Reaper 40285
InputMeterLeft TrackOutputMeter 0
InputMeterRight TrackOutputMeter 1
OutputMeterLeft TrackOutputMeter 0
OutputMeterRight TrackOutputMeter 1
PhaseInv Reaper 40282
Volume TrackVolume
Pan TrackPan
Mute TrackMute
Solo TrackSolo
ZoneEnd
Zone FocusedFX
FocusedFXTrackNavigator
PageDown Reaper _S&M_SELFXPREV
PageUp Reaper _S&M_SELFXNEXT
PhaseInv _S&M_FXBYPSEL
ZoneEnd
btw - with the new surface options in the update, I am finding I no longer need the map-to commands in the zon file, which is very cool! :-)

Could try putting the page up and down in the fx.zon file and see
I think it's not working because you don't GoZone to the focus zone, it'seems just something you'very put in.
I'm honestly not sure the OnFxFocus GoZone works as anew instruction.

I tried that initially, but the problem I quickly ran into was is that un-mapped fx (I couldn't possibly map all of them) get stuck (no longer able to page) when brought into focus.

If I don't re-assign the page buttons in the FX zon file, they continue to function in the background while an FX in in focus. Is there a way to alter their assignments when an FX window is in focus?
edit: hmm - I have an idea...

I think there might be an issue with changes in zon files not being applied when re-loaded.
edit: got it working!

You have to restart reaper for any changes to take effect.

Quick question to anyone:
Is there a way to send a "0" value in the way of feedback to an unmapped control in a .zon file?
i.e. - When I map only a few FXParameters to the Console1, un-mapped controls retain their old values. Is there a solution for this?

Assign NoAction to the control:
Code:
SomeControl NoAction
That will blank/zero it and prevent 'leftover' controls from the previous Zone still being active.

Yup, just map NoAction to any controls you don't want to map, but want to prevent "bleed through" from previous Zone mappings.

Well, right now I'm just experimenting with an app called TouchOSC which is working here with iOS and OS X, Freex had it working with Android and Win 7, so pretty cross platform

question to all:
What does SetShowFXWindows do?
also, do we have gain reduction feedback from Reaper? I'd like to tie that into the Console1 GR meter.

Great! I'll give it a try
I'm currently wrestling with adding modifier support to the Configurator (the feature-complete goal line keeps moving everytime I get near it )
A couple of things would make it easier
i) If the modifier+SomeButton GoZone SomeFXZone could be made to work, I could forget about adding modifiers to individual parameters and just add them to the buttons controlling FX Zone switching. Result is exactly the same as adding to individual parameters except the modifier latches, meaning you only need one hand.
And/or
ii) If the modified FX Zone definitions worked if placed in a separate FX Zone file from the Parent Zone (like any other FX Zone) At the moment the definitions only work if placed in the Parent Zone.
At the moment the only way I can make it work is by adding the modified definitions to an existing FXZone file, which isn't great for re-loading because the Configurator only displays one zone at a time (and I'd kinda like it to stay that way )
