MIDI notes trigger automute, plugins crash

I have come across a problem recently while playing around with Analog Lab 4 from Arturia. First of all if I just play on the keyboard, everything works fine, I can use all the presets.
Now if I want to play back a MIDI track I made, some presets are prone to crash, then Reaper automutes the track and afterwards the track in fo shows a bizarre number like +751dB. After this bug was triggered I can't use any more presets. It looks like there is a rule to what presets crash (my estimation is that the MIDI note-on triggers a sharp spike or something that has Reaper automute the track)
In the attached example I chose a preset called "Acid Flutes" and had it play a MIDI track. It got muted and after unmuting it showed +477dB. After that I wasn't able to use any more presets, but the MIDI signal showed in a thin red bar.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
