Default "Bread and Butter" ReaVerbate Settings.

Does anyone have some nice setting for verbs like a Classic hall, Chamber and Vocal plate.

I've got used to Sound designer in Logic and finding it hard to get "bread and butter" reverbs for acoustic instruments in Reaper.

Many Thanks.

You better get a better Reverb plugin or use ReaVerb with useful impulse files ...

Reaverberate is so simple that I don't even bother with presets. I just go top to bottom until I have the sound that works with the mix... like 6 sliders, and they don't even really affect each other that much.

That said, it's not even really a bread and butter anything for me. It's basically a filler plugin that's just good enough for cockos to say "we gave you everything you need to make a basic mix." I basically use it as a CPU-cheap way to fatten snare drum or add boominess to a kick (small room size, very low lowpass).

I don't use Reaverberate, but you did notice that is already comes with a number of presets, did you ?

(sorry if this is a dumb question).

What I've done is use Reaper to convert all Logic's SDII impulse files to .wav and now I use them in ReaVerb

Don't confuse:
Reaverbate = Reaper algorithm reverb
Reverberate = Liquid Sonic convolution reverb

Reaverbate is a relative of Freeverb, not the best reverb in the world but one of the least CPU-munching ones and it's usable for bread+butter stuff. Of course you're better off with learning how reverb basically works so you know how to set the controls accordingly without presets but there are tons of alternatives (with presets). I like numbers that are multiples of 4, and I have some favorite settings for ReaVerbate based on that.

For a quick and simple verb I only tweak Room Size and Dampening, then use Wet and Dry mixing. If you are getting into tweaking the other settings, IMO you might as well use a more flexible verb anyway.

Big room with soft walls RS:64 D:64
Big echoey room RS:64 D:44
Medium/small dead-ish room RS:44 D:64
Medium fairly 'live' room RS:44 D:44

Then my presets look like pull bar organ names:
64 64 room
64 44 room
44 64 room
44 44 room

4 down and dirty, ultra quick room verbs (just the right number!).

I do understand the differences between,

Reaverbate = Reaper algorithm reverb
Reverberate = Liquid Sonic convolution reverb

And I will certainly try

And also

Big room with soft walls RS:64 D:64
Big echoey room RS:64 D:44
Medium/small dead-ish room RS:44 D:64
Medium fairly 'live' room RS:44 D:44

Yes I did, but am a bit surprised buy the lack of Hall, Chamber, Voc Plate etc.

Much appreciated,
