Default Do the Akai midi/usb controller work on Reaper?

Pretty straightforward question. I'm looking to buy an Akai usb midi controller to use with Reaper and I was wondering if it will actually work on Reaper.

Akai make a lot of different controllers and keyboards in various price ranges. Which are we talking about?

They don't seem to require any specific control surface software (like automap for novation gear) so they probably just send a MIDI CC that would need to be linked to reaper as needed.

Keys always work. Controllers work but it really depends on what you want them to do.

I was going to buy the Akai mpk mini but the lack of a mod and pitch bend wheel made me consider something else. I'm now considering the Alesis qx49 usb midi controller, which I plan on using with Reaper and my v-synth vsti plugins.

MIDI is pretty universal and it's very rare that a particular controller won't work with a DAW.
