Cue markers for audible cues

Sorry if there is some way of doing this that I haven't found yet.

What would be helpful would be to set a "countdown marker" (or multiple markers) in the timeline. Basically the facility to create a marker with a special purpose.

I'd then like Reaper to give an audible countdown to the marker (this could be a configurable number of clicks, it doesn't necessarily have to be a voice counting down). The "countdown" would need to come out on pre-FX output as well as post-FX.

This could be useful as a cue during recording, or as confirmation that you have a marker in exactly the right spot (especially when marking a position in an audio track) for any other purpose.

If there are better ways of doing this, I'm all ears.

Inserting the click source at the right spot might do this?

As for correct placing of markers, just click on the marker heading and play. If not correct, drag the marker heading as required, click on it to play again.

Err.. hold on .. it really IS that easy!!

Believe it or not, I had never tried cutting up a click source. I can do everything I wanted to do with that. That will teach me to avoid assuming things.
