New toolbar docking space in Transport Area
There is free space in the transport area which could easily be used to dock a toolbar and it's also a great place to have one since it sits often pretty much in the middle of the screen so easily within reach of virtually all areas of Reaper.
It would be great to have the ability to dock a toolbar in that area! There is easily space for +-25 icons!
See the mockup I did using a floating toolbar with no borders below:

That's possible already (edit: not really as wanted by the OP, see below)
How I have it here:

You need to create a 'split docker' for this. Drag a tab there while holding 'Ctrl' I believe (it's been some time since I set it up).

By tab, I guess you mean the area you grab in a toolbar that allows you to then drag it elsewhere and dock it to the sides top or bottom, right (it turns blue while dragging).
Nope, I couldn't get it to work and I tried, Alt & Shift as well. :-(
Edit: Actually, I was able to do it but in the toolbar docker, that worked with the Alt key (great info, thx for that already!). However, it doesn't work when I drag it to the transport bar, it doesnt dock.

Yes, that's what I mean.
I just checked again, and the 'trick' is, you first need to create a docker at the bottom and dock the transport in there (by default, the transport is attached at the bottom, then it doesn't work).
After you've created the docker there you should be able to split it as described above and dock another toolbar there.
Admittedly a little long winded procedure.
But if that's fine for you and still can't get it to work just tell and I'll try to do a screnncapture.

Yup, got it but...am I to understand that you've sacrificed the use of the docker for that purpose then?
Because I had to remove both the mixer and the media explorer which I normally always have open in the docker. To get it to look like on your image, I had to remove the mixer and explorer and drag the entire docker all the way down the screen, otherwise all the controls were spread apart.
Is that the way you have it setup then? Or is there another trick I'm missing?

Oh you're right, haven't thought about that, sorry.
Thing is, my mixer and all the other stuff I have on a second monitor so I don't need the bottom docker on the main screen for it.
So I guess your FR still stands.

But then you cannot dock the mixer below that.
Also. it seems impossible to split dock if REAPER is maximized. Restore to normal window and the split. Then maximize.

Still, I learned something! I'll be using that split docker feature in my toolbar docker at the top of the screen! ;-)

yes I also have the top with several toolbars with split.
But I need your request, because I use a floating toolbar there and it's not elegant

Oh? I'm confused because you say you are using split toolbars and yet...you also use a floating toolbar? Why not make it a split toolbar as well? Or is it just that you're running out of room for multiple split toolbars?

sorry, I mean the floating toolbar is just over the transport area where you want the new docker. It works as long as you don't move the main REAPER window. The other toolbars are in docked in several splits on the top. the bottom docker I reserve it for my scripts like the loudness Graph or Notes reader.

Haha, EXACTLY! That's what I do as well! My first post which I called a mock-up is actually the way I currently use it and yes, it's annoying since it's independent of the transport area so if you resize the docker for ex., the toolbar stays stupidly in the middle of the screen!?
Well, don't forget to vote at the top of the thread then! ;-)

I put the transport below the top toolbars, and not between bottom docker and arrange. So resizing bottom docker is not a problem then.

New toolbar docking space in Transport Area
This would be a nice functionality, these days most laptops has small screens & being able to customize add toold in the transport is a plus to have more work-space. It would be nice to be able to hide the "ruler/timeline/region" or able to see thin line only & scroll through each type with a hot-key.
