Default Remove Velocity Without Removing Notes

How can I delete a selected range of velocity values without deleting the notes as well?

I have a piano track with a crescendo using velocity and want to remove the crescendo by removing the velocity range keeping the rest of the velocity values either side of the range.

I am able to do this with most of my projects but in some projects I'm unable to remove velocity without deleting the notes.

Thanks

Velocity is a property of all MIDI notes. A MIDI note cannot exist without a velocity value.

As cfillion said, velocity is an intrinsic part of a MIDI note.

To do what you want, select the notes with the "wrong" velocity, right-click one of them and select "Note Velocity" and pick the velocity that you want them all to have.

Thanks cfillion and DarkStar.

After posting I realised notes and velocity could not be separated. I also discovered the Ctrl + Shift left-drag of the velocity bars which gave me the control I needed to achieve the effect I wanted.

As always Reaper does the job better than any other DAW I've tried.
