Default Would someone please test the new Free SampleTank4 CS?

(It will require making an IK account (to keep track
of your downloads, purchases, and serials etc)

https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/st4cs/

I can use one instance of ST4 CS in linux Reaper,
and add an external effect to it's track,
like z3ta+ or dragonfly reverb, but when I go to
add a second sound (it's 16 part multi-timbral) it locks up,
and I have to restart Reaper.

The full version of SampleTank 3 on the same system has no
problems with loading multiple sounds.

I have Reaper 5.987
Ubuntu Studio 19.10 fully updated today
kernel 5.3x low latency (new in repository)
wine-staging 5.2 (5.4 is available, but I'm too sceered)
LinVst 2.8 from the .deb at the GIT releases page.

It's 5+ gig in all to download, the installer and soundset
are separate .zip files, and there is a new semi-official
wave editor if you like, to make ST compatible sample sets
from own your sounds.
The free IK sounds are excellent, piano, vibes, acoustic guitar,
string section, horn section, organ, kalimba, 'soul vocals' (who knows what that means...?)
and a bunch of nice drumkits. A nice freebie!

So if you test, you'll at least get some useful things for
your trouble. Most sounds include several versions,
I think the Berlin Piano has 5.
The CS bit is the Custom Shop for alacart purchases,
and testing sounds to know if they are good enough.
There is an authorization manager, and it's been trouble free
for a few years now, to copy/paste serial numbers
Cheers

Downloaded and did a quick test.

* Loaded up Berlin Piano, Strings, Horns and Acoustic Guitar, no problem
* Closed Sampletank to add another instance...boom, Reaper closed, bam

It's to heavy on my weak computer (i5 and 16GB RAM) had hundreds of xruns.

I do another test soon.

Test 2:

Loaded up three instances and 3 instruments on each. It's to heavy on my computer. But this time Reaper stayed awake all the time. Hope someone else can to a better test with a more heavy computer.

The sounded good...acoustic guitar, strings and Berlin Piano.

Thanks much for posting, you got futher than I did.
I'll try some more times/ways. Could you mention your

linux kernel (command uname -a will list it)
linux version (like ubuntu studio, debian stable, avlinux or?
DE (window manager, like gnome, xfce, lxde, kde etc
wine version (and any wine over-rides in place?)
reaper version

I'm glad you like the sounds, they are a good compliment
to yoshimi/zynaddsubfx, which are also 16 part multi-timbral.
The IK effects are also good.
Cheers

That's basically what I'm running. I have an old nvidia pcie video card,
and see a mention of d3dx11 in the terminal after a crash,
segfault core-dump tacked on.

Trying to minimize (video) gui use, I made four empty tracks,
and loaded ST4 CS on each one, and was able to play
that layered sound fine, including an older sound from
way back in ST 2.5 era Sonik Synth 2.

But when accessing any of the 4 tracks gui's,
the whole Reaper freezes.

I have a partition/Ubuntu Studio that uses the nouveau video driver,
rather than the official 3D driver running the current tests.
I'll update that other one to wine-staging 5.4,
and keep testing.
Cheers

I removed the whole thing because I cant use it. To bad when it is free. Same goes for Orchestra Tools. Great sounding stuff.

I have a pair of ST4 CS instances along with Reaktor 6,
and an old 32 bit synthedit plugin, together without issues
as long as I leave the ST4 gui alone after choosing a sound.
Still more testing to do, so I'll report findings in coming days
Cheers
