Reaplay discussion
Probably one of the silliest plugins ever made, absolute genius, will probably be my standard audio player now hahahahaha.
Managed to send it a bit batty, clicked on the zoom button and it was too big for my 1366 laptop screen, closed it and Reaper but the process was still running and happily playing away in the background, reopened Reaper and then Reaplay but it just started a new instance, had to end the process in task manager.

Where does one get this player? I couldn´t find it in the Reaper installer or via google search... I´m kind of sick of the "new" windows audio player since they changed it from windows media player...

@operator If you know where to find dev builds, then you'll find it.

Bug:
If I have the player attached to the playlist and move the player the playlist drifts away relative to the player.

A few tiny feature request:
- Is it possible to add a shortcut for play selected audio in playlist? Usually I select an audio file with the up and down arrows and hit return to play the selected file.
- A functional Mono Button
And one big:
- Include web radio streaming so one can sample from radio (recording the track output).
Many Thanks

(this is a serious question) for what proposes one can use a vst player ? (trying to see if I can find some uses for it in mine projects...)
I see some with stream like spotfy and etc etc for sampling easily, comparing stuff.
for files that I have I would drag into the project
What am i missing?
Thx

It's a media player, what are you missing ?
its in the chain, so you can put VST after it, it is using ASIO etc, press EQ and it minimizes Reaper leaving you with just the player, I suspect it was a bit of fun for Justin to remake it, that's about it.

I think I didn't stopped to think that reaper can also used be used to listening music, and the player comes in handy especially with shuffle and playlists + the abilities to put vst after it. :P Was thinking more in production haha, it is cool to have that

ReaPlay bug?
Reaplay in Ubuntu 64-bit 20.04:
Pressing the "Misc" button in the Playlist window is flaky.
If no file is playing, it does nothing (not sure if that is intended behaviour or not)
BUT...
If and when a file IS playing, it brings up two sub-menu buttons (Sort File and File Info). Clicking on File Info (which I presume should do the same thing as Alt+F3 or clicking on "Show File Info") doesn't work. Sometimes (but not always) it generates a Ubuntu system error message too - but I can't reliably reproduce this. Subsequent presses while the file is playing don't show the sub-menu at all.

Reason: Added title to draw attention to this as a bug report.

I wonder if it's controllable via MIDI or OSC. I'm currently bruteforcing sending MIDI-messages to it but nothing seems to change.
Would be great, if I could control it and use it as a programmable sample-player/soundboard..
Edit:
Pause in Transportbar: Pauses Playbackof ReaPlay

Aren't you describing Reasamplomatic ?

Yeah, but more in the style of ReaPlay in form and function.
Reasamplomatic is a little overkill for my purposes.
Edit: Especially the themeability of ReaPlay is really nice. Hope this will become a feature for all Reaper-plugins at some point, as this has been requested quite often in the past.

When loading Reaplay, I just get a black box. For some reason the GUI does not show. Any idea what I can do? MacOS 10.15.6.

Have you extracted the reaplay_skin.wsz into the same folder of the vst-file?

I have some files which are 20khz reaplay but also Reaper media explorer plays it half the speed. this does not happen anywhere else including, foobar, vlc,
or the finder player in Mac os x.
ideas?

thank you lots! but I deleted the file after realising that just converting those files to 44.1khz fixed the problem.
I also noticed that you can save playlist but I still haven't figured out how to load a playlist in Reaplay. is this possible?

How did you create the original file? Can you create a new one that shows the behavior?

Well i was curious ... and of course I installed it.
I'm not sure what's the purpose.
When I have Reaper opened, it's because I'm working to a song or to a V.O. or to a composition. I'm supposed to listen to what I'm doing, not just some music.
Please can you highlight what is the practical use of it by giving some example?
Because the README file just contains installation instructions and the warning that by pressing EQ Reaper is minimized ...

I've always wanted a very simple music player for mac, never liked Itunes or VLC. besides having a very simple music player with Reaplay you can test plugins in Reaper which is what I like to do.

Please if you read carefully it's not what i'm saying :-)
When I open reaper is to work with. Not to listen to a playlist of other songs.
If I just want to listen to music: I have bunch of playlists on Spotify. I don't really mind the rest.
And if songs are on my HD I do use Foobar.
My question si: is there any useful way to employ it during music production (recording/mixing/mastering) or not?

I use it when coding as a music player.
For music production itself it's not really useful, unless you quickly drop into it rendered mixdowns for A/B comparisons as the other option would be to drop them into the project which you wouldn't want to probably.
I don't think that Justin did ReaPlay for real purposes, but rather as a side project just for fun.
@Justin
Could you add to ReaPlay a way to add/get/remove files using TrackFX_SetNamedConfigParm? That way, I could write a script that auto adds rendered files to its playlist.

I downloaded archive reaplay.zip from Landoleet, and extracted reaplay-win64.dll and reaplay_skin.wsz.
I tried to install them into these pathes:
-C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\REAPER\UserPlu gins\FX
-C:\REAPER\UserPlugins\FX (for portable version)
-C:\REAPER\Plugins\FX (for portable version)
-C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins

It should work on Win 8.x
Did you experience a similar problem with another plugin at some point?
