Whoa! This looks awesome. Totally different and unique.
I think I’d agree about the 3D sliders. It’s a cool idea but I think it would bother me to stare at for long periods of time.
Otherwise, awesome work!

Yes, I dig the idea, but I think it would be hard to implement it, as if having 32 tracks having those sliders have a unique deviation to really "represent" reality.
Anyway, just writing again to say YOU ROCK MAN!!! Wow of a theme!!!

Looks very clear and well laid out - not 100% convinced by the knobs (yet).
Can you consider a Mixer that is 1050 pixels high (to include those of us with 1680 * 1050 monitors). I might request that for Imperial too.

I prefer the first mockup for all(the VU meter and the background color) except the wrong perspecive of the faders. Really nice style.

just a thought... your first vol sliders were not bad.. a little too large perhaps and yes, the 3D done that way is disturbing... but, you might still get a 3D affect differently... what if the face of the slider [the part you would touch] was just a little narrower than the back of the slider? so that you would see that "3D" bevel on both sides when seen directly from the front? You see?
they could then still have the look of 3D, like coming out at you off the flat screen but would not be so disturbing.
EDIT... maybe like this:

Hopi- you've got the right idea. Just flip it 180, and it will be more realistic... You would see more of the bottom if you were actually sitting at the desk.

There used to be a Nuendo v1.6 theme in the stash ... however its been gone for some time, at least i cant find it anymore .... anyone have it?
Anyway, i suspect the OP is currently occupied with getting those meters in the 1st post to work.
WT, and many others, have elaborated on how 3D interlaced, or LED style meters wont work very well because they "half-fill".
I would love to have meters like the 1st post above (they look AMAZING!), or LED style meters like on Waves SSL etc etc
Maybe we could consider a meter_stack.png type thing.
That could let themers go crazy with meter options. It seems feasible, on paper, to go as far as a full-fledged VU meter with ballistic needle, if we had more "access" to the meters via WALTER using stacks or some other form of "multi image".
A meter_stack.png seems like it could make this a reality.
These files could get pretty large though ...
Anyway, sorry for the derail

ok I'm just gonna say this outloud and not at all to offend anyone:
it's about meter colors.. I guess I'm just sensitive in the eyeballs to the usual meter colors... I changed mine in themes so they start with a low end db dark blue, then move to lighter blues as the db's increase and finally have red peaks...
something about those yellow green colors that make me ill... really, not a joke...
now I know this theme is aimed at hardware emulation, and I don't have that hardware ... but those meter colors hit me as kind of harsh... anyway, just a thought

A thought:
On my IPS 23" all singing all dancing monitor, no matter HOW I set the brightness/contrast/etc., I am finding the contrast between the fader knob in Mixer view and its back ground to be far to little.
Fader knob just blends into the background from even just a couple of feet away from my desk.

Keep going!!!
I love console looking themes. Cannot avoid it. I learnt the business on actual consoles eons ago. And by that time around here FOH engineers had a constant debate. Soundcraft vs Yamaha. I always belonged to the Soundcraft hardcore, so I guess I'll have to make a Soundcraft like theme to keep the debate going!
Now this theme, Tonelux (hope it keeps going), the two Solaris flavors and WT Imperial are hard competitors joining to the "brands" dispute. Let's see what I can get. Gimme a few months. I'm anything but a graphic designer.
PS, wasn't anyone making a Mackie VLZ theme as well? I think I saw that somewhere.
PS2, If I manage to make something that works, it won't be flashing, I guess... Soundcraft consoles were plain dark boring looking, but simplistic and sober sometimes is a welcome thing. Never liked the fancy colorful Midas layouts myself.

I'm generally not a huge fan of hardwre emaulation type themes (though I do like Imperial) but this is really looking great to me.
