Why not just update the thread title with EXPIRED? Instead of deleting relevant discussion where people are still communicating about their orders. This isn't Cinderella where the thread has to turn into a pumpkin at midnight.

Nicholas deleted the thread. As reason he left the note “no longer applies”. Doesn’t seem the wisest move this short after a question (which he replied to). As he is the thread OP it’s his decision and I’d feel weird if I undeleted it.

Yes, there was a lot of good advices and info from other users.

For example, I would not buy the book if I would not read post by Jennifer (endorka), which encouraged me into buying.

Deleteing threads does not serve any good for anyone and is a bad habit.
Instead marking threads as FIXED, SOLVED, EXPIRED etc. has information value, for sure.

It was not announcement-only thread. Discussion was allowed, so deleting is like disrespecting.
Sorry but I had to express my general opinion and feeling. It should have disabled comments from the start, then it would be OK in a sense.

I haven't received any reply and when I wanted to check for update of the thread (coming to a computer later) then it was not existing already. Too bad, too bad

In a sense it was a cheap commercial advertisement I would say, if ended this way = no respect for participated users.
And don't get me wrong, I have all respect for nicholas' work and already stated that in the thread. Me buying the printed book was more of appreciation of his work than my desperate need of it, as I work with Reaper since its version 0.9x.

I am just not used to such attitude after 13 years here in the Forum, where we all teach new users to not to delete posts or their contents, because others can learn a lot from knowledge shared. This thread also contained knowledge about Lulu company, their shipment prices (in some abstract way, let's say) and how long it may take, and ... a lot a lot of praise to nicholas, obviously

I deleted it myself as the date had expired. It was always my intention to do this. Nothing to do with censorshipor conspiracy. I was simply concerned people might place orders soon after expiry date not realising the offer had expired.

I cannot find the thread using Search here so I even know that he had deleted it and also cannot see the reason he left, of course.

Nor in my history under my account here it is listed. Simply, as it would never existed. I for a second though if I really replied to the thread, if I am mad or what.
I would take it if my history would contain the link to the thread but not working but totally erase it from the Universe, uhh
