I had to rebuild my preferences from scratch and now whenever I left click anywhere in the arrange window the edit curser moves to that spot. I don't want that.
I looked everywhere for the setting and cannot find the option to leave the edit curser where it is. I could swear I used to have it so just a left click on the ruler area would move it. Am I losing it or what? Help! Thanks.
Preferences > Mouse Modifers: [Track][left click]. Set it, for instance, to [Deselect all items] instead of the default Behavior [Deselect all items and move edit cursor].
There's also one for [Media item][left click]: as example, using [Select item] instead of using the default Behavior [Select item and move edit cursor].
And, as you already mentioned yourself, there's one for [Ruler] [left click], as well

Thanks Solger! Gonna fix it when I get to computer. I went thru mouse modifiers but was looking in arrange.
Funny tho that I don't remember having to do that in my previous reinstalls.
