Default Version 5 Change - Play Even With No Media?

I was just noting down the things I notice about version 5 as I notice them. After the design stuff, I noticed that the Play button starts the project playing even when there are no media items in the project. This is a change for version 5, no?

It seems to me that in version 4 and earlier, thinsg stopped playing (cursor stopped moving across the screen) after the last media item. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Does this affect Render options like "Entire Project" versus "Time Selection"?

Just curious about the reason for this change more than anything else.

Thanks!

Ken

That's an ancient thing that I bumped into first running Reaper back in 2006 or so and made me insane... (I am used to to the playback running indefinitely.) It's a preference that must have changed its value since you updated to Reaper 5, so check your preferences.

Preferences->Audio->Playback->"Stop/repeat playback at end of project"

If that's on, the logic is - no items: playback runs forever, at least one item: playback stops behind last item.
