I have been experimenting with the use of reastream to remotely monitor a reaper session. I am finding that the stream is vulnerable to dropouts lasting from a second to 30 seconds. (In comparison, I've used "Unity Connect" between the same two machines without any trouble).
I would love to be able to use restream or something like it, as it is much easier to setup, but with greater reliability. I would also like to be able to monitor my latency. (I can tolerate some latency, but would like to know what it is). I'd be willing to drop audio quality in favour of greater reliability or longer latency.
Suggested solution. Implement the SRT protocol (
