Default possible bug?

new to reaper. using samplitude. as i'm making my way through the reaper 4 manual i noticed the keystroke ~ does not always do what it's supposed to. sometimes i does not maximize the selected track but some other track. right now it's only maximizing track 18 no matter what track is selected.

anyone else?

that's because it zooms all tracks and focus is on the track in the center of view.

Here's a macro that will work like you want: Maximize selected track

hmm, that's strange. so some zoom commands have focus on the selected track and some on the center track?

not really a big deal to me at this point. thx for the macro. just making my way through the ref manual in reaper.

On the subject of focus, to me 'focus' in reaper is a little inconsistent. Mouse clicks seem to register more as 'focussing' events, rather than keystroke triggerd actions, such as changing tracks.

This means that often a keystroke such as 'mute' mutes my last 'focussed' object according to the mouse (an item for example), when I have (in my opinion) changed focus to a track, by using my track select keystoke, and I want to mute that track.

There are other examples of this, like copy and paste. It seems that mouse focus is the most 'remembered' focus.

Just something to remember around REAPER.
