Default Lyrics.lua: no support for accents or special characters

Using Lyrics;lua I see it doesn't accept any special characters. Not even the accented ones that are fundamental in languages that are not English.

italian,
French,
German,
Spanish,
Dutch (yes we put Umlaut on certain vocals due spelling reasons)
etc ...

Hopefully you will implement this feature.
I use it to show lyrics on recording room to singers and I'm constrained to use apostrophes which are NOT correct because it cahgnes completely the way a vocal is pronunciated, if I use de proper accent.

please implement it :-)

It's a known issue with the function gfx.getchar, which has problems with characters typed in with Alt-GR.

And as it seems, the problem is only with entering and editing such characters in Lyrics window.

Entering any character as Lyrics type message in MIDI and/or Notation editor or importing from external text file will accept them and Lyrics window will then display them correctly.

BTW, also pasting text from clipboard does not seem to work in Lyrics window (in Edit mode, of course).

Interesting.

Could you share the affected keys in this bugreport? Even if you don't use Alt-Gr?

https://forums.cockos.com/showthread.php?p=2416918

Maybe this sheds more light on the problem (Justin tried to fix this a few times in the past).
