Upgrading to Melodyne Editor
Advice please. Melodyne has sent me an e-mail to ask if I want to upgrade from Assistant to Editor for €99.
Is it worth upgrading in your opinion? The additional features seem to be polyphony and tempo. I am not sure what I could do with polyphony but some of my tempos could do with tightening up sometimes. Is this easy to do in Editor?

I ran from Assistant to Editor to Studio editions, and I'm very satisfied.
With polyphonyc import I can see the six chords of a guitar on different lines

Thanks for replying ilpelle. Have you any experience with the tempo device?

I have Melodyne Studio and have tried it out for tempo mapping. It's OK for songs with no time signature changes but I didn't find it a reliable substitute for manual tempo mapping if you want an absolutely accurate tempo map.
Some of the other features are great though. It's an excellent tool.
I use the levelling tools on vocals and bass, and the harmonic editor is handy for tonal balancing of some tracks, e.g. a bass with a particularly loud harmonic.

Well, I downloaded the Editor. Installed it and opened it in Reaper. I looked under "help" and it told me I still had the "Assistant" version, so I clicked licence and was told Melodyne is wating for me to enter the desired information on our licensing website and it directed me there.
Nothing to activate there. The page tells me I have Melodyne Assistant
Underneath that is
Activation 1 and 2 with serial numbers (I suppose) and a deactivate button
Underneath that is
Buy an upgrade
Activate trial version (for Studio)
Edit profile.
No sign of anywhere to activate!
Any ideas please?

The codes next to Activations 1 and 2 are apparently for my desktop computers.
Maybe I should click the Deactivate buttons to activate Editor!

I had similar issues when upgrading from editor to studio. After i uninstalled Editor and installed Studio, i was finally able to authorize it on my computer.
Hope it helps!

Thanks for your reply. So do you think I should uninstall Assistant and install Editor again?

When I try to install Editor I have three options: modify (select new program features)
Repair (reinstall all program features installed by the previous setup)
Remove (Remove all installed features)

Don't know if it helps but I think Celemony forced me to deactivate my copy of Melodyne 4 before I could activate my upgrade to Melodyne 5. Suggests you might need to deactivate other installations?

Thanks for your advice everyone. I uninstalled the previous version and then installed Editor and it now works.
