Syncing Kilpatrick Carbon to Reaper

Does anyone have experience of syncing a Kilpatrick Carbon hardware sampler to Reaper?

Specifically, I want to slave the Carbon to Reaper's clock, so that when I record the Carbon playing a bunch of instruments, the recording lines up with the bar lines in Reaper, with no drift.

I've got it set up so that the Carbon will start when I hit Play or Record in Reaper. And when I change the tempo in Reaper, the tempo of the Carbon visibly and audibly changes.

However:
* The resulting recordings don't seem to line up with the bar lines in Reaper
* The BMP display on the Carbon's screen doesn't change to reflect changes in tempo instigated in Reaper -- maybe this doesn't matter but I find it troubling
