First mix of the whole band together. Jason added the electric guitars and I wrote a rudimentary bassline.

I will probably change a few things here and there when I've done some critical listening, comments on the mix are welcome.

On the whole, I'm very satisfied, there's some good noise in there.

I'd like to put it up on FB, if you want a credit, pm me your names (Hardplay - cool pics of your studio, btw). If you prefer anonymity that's okay too.

Sounds good with everybody. I think the cymbals could come down just a little, particularly the splashes. The playing is fine, it's just I think they jump out too much in the mix. Sammydix is fine for credit.

I hear you, but I had a stereo file to work with. Suppose I could have done some volume automation and such but settled with a compressor and a tiny bit of distortion. I love the energy and the noise.

Ok i will lower the OverHeads's a couple of db's , and add the Guiro to the stereo track.

First impression, vey positive, my son also likes it so far.
MIX: i think the vocals need lowering at least 2db, i would also push the bass up front a couple of db.

No, don't care for anonymity , i will give you our names when i send the remixed drums with the guiro.

Will give it a go. I post the new mix when ready -- I'll wait for your reworked file. Don't be too shy about those cymbals. As I said, I like the energy.

Anyways, I mix and master with software, on headphones. I'd love that soft analog sound, but it is what it is.

I've sent you new stems check your pm for links.

I've reworked the 2 overhead tracks, recorded some tambourine , shakers and mixed in the Guiro that i recorded 2 days ago.
I'va also sent you a vocal backing track that i used as a pilot for my son to play along with. See if it's worth adding.

I made some changes, a bit dryer now. Do you want a credit? If not, let me know.

Here's the new mix with remixed drums and backing vocals: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pgoa9e1dca...utti2.wav?dl=0

I still like the noise and consider it done. Of course I can make mix adjustments if you think it's needed, just say the word.

This was a fun experience and I been thinking about other songs to cover, like All The Young Dudes or something... I've always liked that one.

Kind words, Beat Machine. Sure, I'd gladly do another song any day. I've already mentioned All The Young Dudes (in G major), shouldn't be too difficult... or Ashes To Ashes (in E major)... or something else.

One of my favourite Bowie tracks. This motley crew sure did it justice. The mix has a really nice vintage vibe to it too. Love how it opens up after the 3 minute mark. Huge pay off.

Great job to everyone at all levels here. Enjoyed this.
