Doubled sound when recording MIDI

Hey everyone,

Thanks for your help already...

I got two problems since I updated REAPER to version 6

a)
I get to hear doubled sound when I use my MIDI keyboard controller to record MIDI on a track with a VST instrument inserted.

Sounds as if pressing the keys triggers two midi note on messages. But I can't find any solution to where and why this happens.

1) I am using a Nektar Panorama keyboard controller
2) It happens with every VST instrument

I usually set a loop and record in "time selection auto punch" mode. It's all fine as long as the project is just playing back and I play on the controller keyboard, but as soon as I hit record I get the doubled sound.

b)
Since the update, REAPER crashes very often, especially when I do something in the build in browser (and sometimes randomly). It got to the point to where I got used to always saving my project before I use the browser :-(
What could this be?

a: as of v6, Input Monitoring is on by default. (as it's mostly used that way). You can easily switch it off.

Sure, I am aware of that, and it should be on cause I actually wanna hear what I am playing. But I am used to only hearing the sound I play once when monitoring and not "doubled".

It is as if the channel would output the MIDI after triggering the VST instr. and route into itself back once more.

Use the ReaControlMidi Log to monitor what goes on in the midi streams.
