Default Create only new fades, and treat items with auto fade default as candidates for fades

Is there any way to batch create fade ins and outs on multiple items but only for new fades? This is a very useful function, but it's somewhat tripped up, as I touched on in another thread on a different fade issue, by regions that haven't been edited but have an auto fade on them, so the DAW thinks they been edited already. So.... is there a way in Reaper to highlight a track and give all the regions fade ins and outs except for any fades that already exist that are NOT the default auto fade? IOW, so that it would treat the autofaded items as unedited and give them these new fades and leave alone items that have had their fades already edited? Sort of like a "create new fades only" function, but with the ability to change auto created fades, recognized by the fade default, leaving the others untouched?

Thanks
