Default how do i prevent audio items from stretching/pitch preserving?

hi all,

the subject pretty much says it - i would like to set selected audio items so they play without any time stretching/pitch shifting.
think of the following scenario:
i have a drum loop audio item that i've split it to individual items at 16th grid (because the individual hits are shorter as 16th). now, when i change the tempo, they still get stretched - individually - even if i set the items up in the item properties to "beats/position only".
as there's no option in the item properties to select "none" from the item properties "take pitch shift/time stretch mode" section drop down, i don't know how to proceed.
so i'd be very thankful for help... thanks in advance...

but then the positions of the individual items don't move accordingly, when the track tempo is changed. that can't be it...

They shouldn't stretch in position only mode, note that u can set it in 3 places, per project in file/project seetings, per track and per single item.

it's really strange - yesterday i tried it and it did not work. it either stretched the individual slices, or, when set to "time and beats", the items were all over the place when i changed the tempo. BUT - it was a rex file, that i imported as individual slices.
because, when i tried it today with a normal wav file drum loop, slicing it at grid, it _did_ work as it should. kinda strange... maybe it has to do with rex files... will check that tomorrow...

For audio.
Generally in time mode all stays as it is, only grid change.
In beats/position mode items start follow grid.
In beats/position/rate mode items start follow grid but also items are stretched.

For midi:
in all modes items adapt to grid when tempo change.

ps. set in project settings your desired mode. To make it default in every new project:
1.open new project
2.go to project settings and set as you want
3.save project as template
4.go to Preferences\Project, browse for your project template

Now every new project will follow settings from your default template, I recommend to set such default project to keep you settings on new projects because some settings like in mixer, metronome etc. arent keep on new project (are project dependent) so when you set something and open new project without your default template you will have to set those in each new project.
