I don't understand what I am doing wrong. Can u tell the structure of your Theme in the Colortheme folder?

This is mine in C:\Users\Myuser\AppData\Roaming\Reaper\ColorThemes

Have you got the same ??

About right.
Except there's no folders there. Only files .ReaperTheme and .ReaperThemeZip.
So, the encircled items on your screenshot should be added to a zip-archive Black2.ReaperTheme.zip which then should become Black2.ReaperThemeZip. That's what I would do. Off course having the file(s) and/or folder(s) backed up first.
And I don't insist on that particular name )

Almost done. If you now lose the dot before Zip (changing the file extension from .Zip to .ReaperThemeZip), you should get working Black2.ReaperThemeZip .

I was desperate ... but now I have found a way to make the changes in the rtconfig.txt work.

I uncompress the Black.ReaperThemeZip
I add a dot: Black.ReaperTheme.Zip
I uncompress the zip file.
I get one folder and a file called Black.ReaperTheme
I go into the folder, there I edit the rtconfig and I compress everything again with the zip file. Finally I take off the dot to have again a:
Black.ReaperThemeZip

It's really tedious but it works.

Really like this theme, but would like to move the track labels in the MCP to the BOTTOM of the tracks for more consistency where they end up.

Is there a simple method to do this ?

Hi Sergy,

I like your Blackmore theme a lot. The only thing I'd change is the meters - as I prefer the old fashioned green/yellow/red meters (or at least just green) instead of the blue ones.

I'm very new to Reaper, and very new to modifying these themes, so I can't figure out how to do this.

The "action: theme tweaker" - VU meter settings don't change the theme, so I tried to edit the theme files as discussed here
https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=172341

I'm still not having any luck though.
I renamed all the "meter" files (hoping that the theme tweaker settings would start to work) but that doesn't help.

The "action: show theme element finder" shows two items that look like what I want to change.
meter_ol_v
meter_ol_tcp
but where do I find these?

Could you (or someone) please point me in the right direction to where to change these meter colours?

I know we can ask you (nicely) to do it - but I don't mind trying it myself - I'm just stuck as to where to look.

EDIT - also, how do I change the little grey indicator on the pan knobs - to white? (for better visibility)

Thanks

OK - I found out how to change the meters. I just deleted all the meter png files, and now the theme tweaker settings work.

The secret is - to edit the "ReaperTheme" file, and down at the bottom point it to the correct path for the png files etc.
I had changed the name of the theme file and the folder (to Blackmore-JB) so it was looking in the original location.

The only thing left is - there is a text readout in the TCP meters, and it's not legible with my green (and yellow and red) meters. If I could change it (from grey) to bright white - that would be wonderful.

Also - I'd still like to change the "notch" on the pan knob from black to white - to make it more readable. I don't really see where to do this either - but I know it's in there somewhere...

How to make such "tint track (mixer) panels backgrounds" fragment in theme v.4?
I ask not for instructions, but a ready-made working code. Maybe, TCP and MCP section from rtconfig.

You can't, and it's all the purpose of the new Reaper 5 tint scheme.

Previously, either the whole panel background was tinted or not, according to the way the Tint track panel backgrounds option was set. With the new scheme, you can adjust the way parts of the panels are tinted,
playing with both the transparency and the tint of them. In your case, and if you decide to use the Reaper 5 tint scheme, the right side of the tcp_bg/tcp_bgsel/envcp_bg/envcp_bgsel.png files is involved, as well as the overall tint
and transparency of the tcp_namebg.png one. So, I would suggest the following :

1) at the very beginning of the rtconfig.txt, add the following non Walter instruction :

version 5

2) Adjust both the background tint and transparency of the files mentioned above. For your theme, I have joined two examples of what could be done for this : I have set them so as their resulting tint is more or less the same
as the tcp label background one when its tint is activated. They are not perfect : when the Tint track panel backgrounds option is disabled, the result is too dark. So, you'll probably have to adjust all this on your end,
while playing also with the background tint and transparency of the tcp_namebg.png file.

in version 4 it's a setting under Reaper's preferences:
Options
-- Preferences
---- Appearance
------ Track Control Panels
first 2 check boxes at the top of that window decide if color is applied to the just the track label, the whole panel or both.

see attachment:

I thought you were trying to color the background of the track or mixer control panels.
Are you trying to color the background of the individual track media items or the entire lane the media items are on?
those colors are selected in the theme tweaker window called:
Media Item Background
there are 4 of them
- unselected odd tracks
- unselected even tracks
- selected odd tracks
- selected even tracks

see attached pic:

I have been using "Black" for many years now. Only recently did I realize that I did not know who made the theme. Glad I searched the stash to find Blackmore and BlackB! They both are excellent upgrades.

Thank you, sergy172.

Question: I have no idea what the donation information in the stash means. Can you post a direct link here so I can donate?
