Seriously, Labyrinth, thanks for all your work on my default theme.
Well, it's not that I do not like them, but it seems that the TCP should have them too, if the MCP has them. This is especially apparent because they have the same buttons. Now you might be saying "Just add them." ...well it's not that easy.

1st- Overlays bind to buttons (1 or many) and since the buttons can change all or just showing the Mute and Solo on the TCP it messes things up.

2nd- If for example I had the overlay attached to the solo button and positioned to show to it's left, it will do CRAZY stuff when you minimize the TCP to show only the Mute & Solo...crazy= go over the Name or More.

What should I do?

Also, I see you're from Bufallo, NY...I was born in Syracuse, NY.

You have not lost your fans! This is the theme that I always come back to now, even after trying some of the flashier ones. When it comes to getting work dome. EOTE is the best!

Thanks for all your hard work, Labyrinth!

Your fans are still here, Lab - just happily (and apparently quietly) using EOTE. (Though I do admit to an affair with 'Paula'. Don't tell my ex-wife. Or my girlfriend. Ambivalence may or may not be my problem...)

I really like the new dark variation - fairly subtle change, but nice. Not too dark. Older eyes, y'know. Might just settle into this as a new default.

I'm not really from Buffalo, I just live here currently - I'm from a small town 30 miles east. Live in Syracuse long, or just passing through? Played a bunch of good gigs there with my previous band.

Yeah labyrinth, consider me your fan too. Great theme and I also use it along with Paula depending on my mood. These two are my favorite. Somehow they remind me of my poor little Cubase that let me down recently in a thorough way by crashing on different plug-ins (unlike Reaper).
Seriously, a great theme. I want the upper left corner menu buttons to be the same style as the mixer faders -nice little cuties. What do you say?

Yeah,
probably the best theme together with Nomolitic.

I just tweaked some colours and replaced the menu-icons.

Thank you everyone. I am going to bring back the overlays that I had around the MCP buttons in 2.09...I think they made it look so much nicer.

The light dark mashup looks perfect. Thats the way I like to work, with the editing area light with higher contrast and the mixers dark with lower contrast except for mute/solo/record lights being highly visible.

It's a finely tuned work of art. Good stuff

The new version looks pretty sweet. Personally, I find the track/item area is a little too bright in comparison to everything else - I'll probably drop all of the RGB values on the background, say, by 30-40 - but that's probably just me.

Thanks gents. Although the darker controls are supposed to be easier on the eyes in that they are out of your way, with the now darker color contrast the grid probably should be darker. I took your advice Lokasenna and lowered the values by 30 and came up with this as an alternate. I will release this as the next versions alternate (Darkened Grid Area).

I'm sorry I haven't been posting as much lately as I used to, but I thought I'd drop a line in to say that EOTE is still my default theme. I've been using one of the older versions with some slightly modified graphics for months now, but this latest one is even better.

Please do incorporate the darker background, I think it really works better.

I did have one question, I suppose this is probably a very simple thing I'm just missing, but how does one change the font of the track titles and such you enter in your projects in the TCP and MCP. The newer versions seem to be using a bold version of the older one, and I think I like the thinner lettering better but I don't know how to change it.

Thanks so much for all your hard work, this really is the best overall theme I've used.

Default Version 2.12

Thank you so much everyone for your continued support. Here is the latest- 2.12 with many updates:

*fixed overlay problem on the MCP rec button
*smoothed out many of the button fonts, but this may not be noticeable unless you are using very high resolutions (i.e. those that are made to work on wide screen monitor setups)
*and more!!!!

DOWNLOAD

If anyone does not want to use the overlays for any reason do this:
1. Open up your REAPER Color Theme folder (defaulted to C:\Program Files\REAPER\ColorThemes\Easy On The Eyes 2.12)
2. Delete all graphics with the ending _ol (you should be able to see the graphics if you have them in thumbnail view).
3. Open up the file rtcongif and change the line use_overlays 1 to use_overlays 0 (this disables the overlays)

BTW- Track Title Font is what you adjust to change the TCP/MCP track labels.

Great stuff. I like different faders and a couple tiny custom things like blue meters (just because I like blue), but this is and has been my default for a while and I doubt that will change.

I feel like a noob asking this, but WHERE do I adjust the Track Title Font? I couldn't find it in Preferences, I don't know where it's at.

Thanks!

labyrinth,

Thanks a lot for this great theme! I've installed several onces, but it seems that I continuously fall back to EOT.

Just to let you know your work is much appreciated!
