Dude, this is fucking awesome. Listening right now. Sort of Slipknot meets Manson. Great collaboration piece. More! More! What are you using for drums? They sound great. The guitar is nice and crisp and raw.
On the section right after the lead break, it would be cool if you could figure out a way to make the guitars swirl with some automated panning. Just a thought.
Really enjoyed!

Steve - Thanks man!
I am using EZD, believe it or not. But, I am using two seperate expansions at one time (DFH, and the standard Rock Kit) to give the drums some more body, then processing the hell out of it!
Glad you like it man - Shemp and PattonFreak1 really make this song what it is!

Yeah, EZD is rather obvious on this one - the snare and cymbals are dead giveaway.
Otherwise it's rather pro production, although not really my cup of tea

Funny, we (pattonfreak1) tried to automate spinbug but it kept crashing.
There is some slight "overlapping" pan on the divebomb guitar tracks at that break but it's real subtle as there are 2 tracks that go from left to right opposite each other...
thanks for the comments! This was a lot of fun.

My hangover feels muuuuuuuuch better now!
Not
Here's the lyrics if anyone was wondering:
MAKE WAY!
Y'all ain't ready for this
and can't you tell that
this time its all just
a matter of the personnel
COMPLICATION
never seems to arise
open up your ears, boy, and
learn to never trust your eyes
I've never been one to
listen to reason
Yeah it's fuckin tough
Still not flat enough
CONTRADICTION
never lasts very long
ANNIHILATION
HAS COME FOR YOU ALL!
You look at my face and then you wonder why
How much longer with this alibi
You know that its true
And you can think what you want but you know that its fucking over
STEAMROLLER!
We're not ready for this...
but what the hell?
so we'll minister a little more and
something you should strive for is
LIBERATION
Body, heart, mind & soul
All done with a smile
And bullets fused with audio
You will construct (CONSTRUCT)
we will destruct (DESTRUCT)
You're not so fuckin tough
It's still not loud enough
ABOMINATION
Crawlin up your bedroom wall
OBLITERATION
HAS COME FOR YOU ALL!
You look at my face and then you wonder why
How much longer with this alibi
You know that its true
And you can think what you want but you know that its fucking over
STEAMROLLER!
All said and done, and yeah, you had your fun
Now its my turn and I'm the only one
That gets what I gave
And you can do what you like but you're never gonna roll me over
STEAMROLLER

Love the FX on the solo guitar at the final third!
What is it, some bitrate reduction thing?
Nice cover too jinko17.
Perhaps the blood should follow the curvature?

Wow...
Better than what I expected.
I think I'd almost prefer it without the "Santa Cruz FSU" screaming hand though.
Well done \m/

Its the Saturn 5 Ring-Mod effect in PODFarm. I friggin love that thing. You get all sorts of weird non-guitar sounds by just varying pick attack/position, velocity etc.
And I had said to Scott as well, "The shittier you play, the more fucked up it sounds."

Though, I agree - maybe the hand, while awesome, is too much - the bloody steamroller is too badass to obscure!

Aah, thanks.
I've tried in the past a few other software ring modulators, but didn't quite know how to make good stuff come out of them.
Maybe I need to revise...

I can make you guys something different if you didn't want a literal steamroller. It just dawned on me after reading the lyrics that it might have been metaphorical.

Excellent! Fine job on the tune. My only constructive comment is that it seems to need more bottom end. I played it on my computer speakers (Advents) and in my car, and it seems to need more punch in the lows. Haven't played it in the studio yet. Just my 2 cents...

I ain't trying to kiss y'alls collective assess...
But that's damn good. The mix is 'kin great. I wish to god I could get that sort of space in my mix. I'm not a synth fan but those sure do go a long way to opening up the sound scape.
I have 1 small suggestion: More DRUMS! (This of course comes from a drummer) Get a couple of bad ass fills in there if possible!
Keep up the collaboration. Hard to believe but it can only get better, until your Rock Star egos get in the way :-)
Kudos... Fuckers!

Thanks for listening man!
Yeah, In retrospect I could have done a bit more with the drums, but I was more fixated on getting everything in and keeping the space while retaining the crushing guitars.
Next song (already in the hopper) will be a little different than this one, and I will definitely do more with the drums!!
Thanks again man - appreciate the kind words!

Nice job guys. If you all keep going, and I hope you do, I hope you make sure all your songs have at least one particularly hooky riff in it like you have in this tune (I'm sure this is an obvious thing to point out, but there ya go anyway). The hooky riff (starting at 20 seconds - sort of dimebaggy I suppose) is what has made me listen to the track several times and become familiar with the less-hooky-but-still-good riffs/progressions/chuggs elsewhere in the song.
Very, very good. I know I will listen to this over and over again. My only critique is that for me, the drums feel like they could push a little harder. They just don't feel as big as the rest of the song. I am not sure what to suggest to that end though. To get bigger sounding drums, I have used parallel compression with quite a bit of success.
Other than that very small critique, I must say that I love the track, it sounds professionally done, Chris_P, you should feel very proud of the mix (and mastering, if any) and I can't wait to hear more.

Thank you! We appreciate the feedback!
Now by "parallel compression", is that the same as "NY" style compression?

Yeah, that's what I meant. I have tried both ReaComp and Audio Damage Rough Rider for this. I think I like Rough Rider for this purpose. It is easy to make it pump.

I've bussed the drums and bass to a track with the Kjaerhus Classic Compressor using the "Hard Compression" preset. Does a nice job also.
Thanks all for the comments!
