Default MT Power Drum Kit 2 - No sound on reopen of project

I created a drum line (using MT Drum Kit's tutorial by adding it as an FX, dragging a beat and then editing in the piano roll) and everything was fine during that session but after saving and closing, then re-opening the project later, there is no drum sound.

Working as designed. You have to open it up each session and click the button to get sound. Workaround is to donate and get a key.

DOH! OK
Got laid off in September. When I get another job or sell some songs I'll donate!
Thanks for the heads up!

I suggest you get Steven Slate Drums 5 free version instead, worked for me. And it has a bit more controls for sound then MT.

Or both
Grooves and fills from MTPDK and the samples played by SSD5 (for those who need grooves at all and prefer the MTPDK grooves over the free which come with SSD5).

Should work fine together in terms of midi mapping. If not right out of the box, then together with the Steven Slate Drums MIDI mapping preset:

I went ahead and donated to MT and installed SSD free and it sounds great. I look forward to using them both as appropriate.

Thank you again everyone.

I need some help with this setup. I have MTPDK2 and SSD4. I watched the MTPDK2 video on how to get SSD to use their groove and I'm doing something wrong. Muted everything, turned on MIDI out in settings, added a new track and put SSD4 in the FX. Maybe I'm not setting the MIDI in properly. I'm not a MIDI guy at all, so I'm sure this is where I'm falling down.

Hi Kevvie. Which video are you referring to?

Here is a video which shows the process done with AD2. Should work the same with SSD:

Let me know of that worked out for you.

Ahhhhh. Okay. I got it working now and I see what I was doing wrong. I had an existing project I was working on and wanted to try some different drum sounds. The grooves were on the original MTPDK2 track. But in order for them to play, they need to be on the SSD4 track.

I'm gathering that when the grooves are generated in MTPDK2 using the midi map for SSD4, the different instruments (cymbals, toms, etc) are moved to where they would be for SSD4. I can't just take the grooves I had running on the MTPDK2 track and paste them onto the SSD4 track now as things would be in the wrong place.

Unfortunately, they're heavily modified so I can't just go back and grab the original grooves again.

But you really helped, Daniel. Thank you.
