Default Automation Item Properties - "Shape Tilt"

This would be a new parameter to adjust the angles within an LFO shape cycle.

The best immediate example of this would be to soften the right angles of sawtooth shapes. I very often want most of the shape of sawtooth, but the right angle creates an unpleasant pop. If I could just soften that angle a little bit it would solve the problem.

What I do now is select the top nodes of the sawtooth and then edge them over slightly so as to remove the absolute right angles. But in doing so I lose the ability to skew, adjust the number of cycles and all that other cool stuff in Automation Item Properties.

So the net effect of this would be allowing us all the shape variations between triangle and sawtooth, and would be cool on sine as well.

This would just help us shape the LFO even more and would be very powerful IMO. I know I'd get tons of use out of this.

This would be very useful!! I just saw steinberg demonstrate this in one of their Nuendo videos. This will be very useful for reaper ! A big +1. Pls

Oh interesting! I did a presentation for a software developers conference a couple of years ago in Portugal and one of the things I pitched was the idea of a "soft sawtooth" to them, with this type of scenario in mind. Several of the devs there were from Steinberg so maybe they took it to heart!

I'd love this to turn up everywhere.

Bumping this. I use automation items daily, as well as the properties and wish I had this every time.

Is it possible to shape tilt or skew automation item in Reaper 6.7?

Tilt and softener sound good but in a more general application of this would be to ability to superimpose directly two LFOs. Also adding a new LFO shape with adjustable shapes like item´s fade-in/out would act as a softener.

Even through roundabout ways, probably simpler to implement - such as

"Merging" two envelopes into one, so we could work by iterative superposition - as it happens with Volume and Trim Volume

?

You mean having more than one AI at once and then glue them? Yeah, it's a cool feature.
