audio error
Can anyone help me? I'm running into a problem I can't fix. All sound has stopped working on my computer. This is the error:
0xc00d4e85
Another app is controlling your sound right now. To listen here, close that app and try again.
So, I tried everything, I believe 9 different ways to solve this problem (by googling), and none have worked. It's strange, because NOOO audio works EXCEPT guitar tracks/bass that I recorded in Reaper. YT videos have no sound. No Itunes. Even video projects I rendered won't play. The video ONLY plays when I disable my audio card/interface. My sony vegas movie studio won't open. But sound plays in Reaper, go figure. Any ideas?

You don't say what the nine unsuccessful proposed solutions were, but my first instinct would be to reinstall/update sound card drivers.

I tried ending audio dg process, updating drivers, disabling sound devices and reabling, restarting, going in my advancing settings in sound mixer/sound settings, and trying with those, etc.

And when you restart, disconnect the power/remove laptop battery for 30 seconds too. I occasionally get this, I've got the OEM M/B soundcard and a MAYA 4-ch PCIe one. Not Reaper's fault.

I have no idea what the problem was, but I decided to try resetting my comp to an earlier date, and that fixed it.

You changed something recently and have forgotten about the change.

First, lets see if the pci connected audio interface is showing up in the system. Open Audio MIDI Setup. Is the interface there? Is it selected for your system audio? (As you would do to use it for normal system audio - internet browsers, media players, etc.) (You can open the simplified 'Sound' in System Preferences to check this if you prefer. Audio MIDI Setup is more comprehensive.)
You're most likely selecting your interface directly in Reaper (which is the first choice) and thus have no problems there.
