You have good taste.

You want the original keys and chords... Check out Alan Pollack's writing about the Beatles compositions. http://www.icce.rug.nl/~soundscapes/...notes_on.shtml

Also this: https://www.halleonard.com/product/v...8&subsiteid=1& $85 though. For me it was worth it.

I play Beatles arrangements and those sources have been valuable.

Agreed!

Both of those are great resources.

I was going to suggest Tiny Tim, but then thought better of it.

Neil Young is fun and easy. Oh someone said that... Well what I do is make a playlist in my media player and modify the lyrics on my cover songs to include chords. Very handy.

Also check out https://www.songsterr.com. Playing along with MIDI isn't the greatest, but it's quicker to learn than tabs alone.

Whenever buying songbooks, watch out for the fake tabs (sometimes called "supertabs"), which are nothing more than the vocal lines for guitar. I felt so cheated the first time I bought one of those and unfortunately it was not the last. There was a big Beatles chord book that was like this. Such garbage. Who asked for that?

There are many books in the 'guitar hero' series which can be found used online for only a couple bucks, they are surprisingly error-free, these are various rock songs.

I've also found large stacks of sheet music and music books at local library used book sales, usually $1 - $2 each.

The thing to watch out for with these books is if they include the vocal melody. Many guitar books dont. If you really want to sing well it is best to have the vocal melody as a printed piano part, to practice the right pitches.

Eagles songbooks are easier than Beatles. The Beatles have more sophisticated chord changes; they are what I started with in 1964. But whatever gets you playing is good!
