Default Okee folks... crackling. bad.

Alrighty, after fighting with my hardware for hours on end, I've finally got my guitar running through Jesusonic.

The problem is, no matter what input device I choose (WaveOut, ASIO, Dsound, Kernel Streaming), I get bad crackling. This only happens when Jesusonic is running. When it's turned off, I can hear my guitar fine through my speakers, nice and clean.

Technical notes -
Sound hardware: Audigy 2 Platinum using kX audio drivers. That may have something to do with it, I'm not sure.
Processor: P4 3.06GHz
RAM: 512MB DDR400 in Dual-Channel mode.
WinXP Pro w/SP2

I'm currently using the Mic In on the front panel of the Audigy, none of the rear jacks seem to do anything, even if I run the guitar through a preamp. (I don't know which is line in - can't see back there, I just tried them all..)

This isn't a hissing noise from the crappy preamp in the audio card (that noise is there), it's a distinct popping and crackling, like a very bad LP.

If anybody's run into this and has suggestions, they would be MOST appreciated...

Use ASIO or Kernel Streaming.
For kernel streaming: try increasing the buffer size and/or number of buffers.
For ASIO: try increasing the buffer sizes in the driver's ASIO control panel.

Got it, I'd tried Kernel Streaming before, and it had always been horrid, and ASIO was bad regardless of buffers (kX drivers aren't perfect..).
I increased the Kernel Streaming buffers, and it's great now.
Thanks!
