Samplitude has three limiters on the master. (only two can be used at a time, as one is switchable between two "modes".)

The Multiband, the "classic" and Advanced dynamics.

All you have to do is save a template with a limiter on the master channel. (Scott Stillwell's excellent EventHorizon limiter, listed in the JS plugs is a good choice.)

You can then turn it on or off at will.

The Classic Master Limiter (free) works well for me.

Where's the EventHorizon limiter? Can't see it anywhere.

It's one of a series of plugins written by Scott that aren't included in the REAPER installer.

No, I don't know why.

It's a JS plug, Art. (I moved mine to "Compressors", but I think it may actually be under "Dynamics")

Perhaps use the "Filter List" box at the bottom of the plugin chooser, since I'm a little unsure of where it was installed by default.

EDIT: Does it not come in the installer? I thought it did. Sorry. I'll try to get a link for you.

Here you go, Art:

This will get you all of Scott's JS plugs:

All of them are very good. I believe they may be included in an upcoming version of Reaper. There's a really good vocal doubler in there, too (ozzifier).

The problem with setting up a template with a limiter on is that most of the really smooth ones use look ahead; Reaper will compensate for it if needed, but it does introduce extra latency.

Anyways, here's the one I use (but it does have 40 samples of look ahead):

Hmm, I stopped using that one at some point... it seemed to cause problems in earlier versions of Reaper (I think a gradual fade out all through the render). But if you are using it, it must now be OK. Like I said above, the Classic one works for me (plus Scott's new JS one!).

Strangely enough, I stopped using Kjaerhus classic at one point because I had problems with them and Reaper...UI problems if I remember correctly.

Probably those are solved now, hard to keep up and check everything in every new version of Reaper.

Its because the level of the ingoing signal is to load. You can use the JS-utility-volume before the limiter.
