Default Easy renaming of files

Described in the thread: http://www.cockos.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2509

EDIT: forget about this below!
Would be handy! Also it would be good to be able to easily rename an item, like in Cubase where you (i think) ALT+doubleclick the part that one would like to rename and instantly an edit window appears letting the user type in the new name.

You can do this for a selected Item in REAPER by pressing F2. The Media Item Properties window appears, allowing you to rename the Item ... in addition to a lot of other things.

Cheers,

Malcolm.

Read my post again, Dandruff. I was specifically responding to the part of the post referring to the Item.

(I still think that the basic file naming scheme should provide info on which files belong together - the numbering should be the same for all files which were recorded together so that you could fit them back together if the project file disappeared).
