Default Another New Guy

Hello everyone, and thanks in advance for your time and efforts.

New on Reaper, and finding WAY easier than I could have imagined, beats my standalone Boss 1600 by a mile.

O.K. here's my question: Can someone point me the right way, as in finding the resource for my answers. I have a multi track song going, typical inst.s.

Electric guitar, electric bass guitar, Manda Power Drums VST.

Song is going great, would like to add some accompanying old school rock and roll organ. I don't play keys, but can construct notes to form chords, and be taught to moving them to the beat. Of course, at this stage the cheaper the better, as this is one of my first efforts and would be shocked if it's anything other than my tutorial.

Download an organ VST?

Quantize?

Which one of Kenny's vids.'s?

Thanks for reading all this, and all your efforts to tell a newb to rtfm.

Welcome to Reaperland Steve, an island of sanity in a world going crazy (mostly 😉!)

Anyhow I like this free one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ToeqbnBDys

or this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyT842joBsM

Kenny covers MIDI recording in a number of places - this one covers quantising on input which I guess is what you need if you don't quite trust your keyboard skills.

Good luck!

@Martifingers

Thanks again for all the help. My virtual organ is in my plugin file.

Loaded up a new track, and sounding great!

Awesome place, life changing, for me, tool.

Next dumb question. I need a midi keyboard controller to play more than one note a time?

Thanks again for all the help.

Unless the VSTi is monophonic (ie can only sound one note at a time) then you should be OK using the virtual keyboard to play chords. The ones I mentioned are work fine (just tested!)
