Default is there a way to copy paste locked items and pasted item stays locked?

At this moment seems that when we copy paste a locked item the pasted item looses the lock.
Any way to change this?

Thank you!

Create a custom paste & lock action:

Item: Paste items/tracks
Item properties: Lock

Assign a shortcut for it and you can choose this action when wanting the lock or your regular paste action(s) when not.

Yep, doesn't quite work for the mouse drag & drop, since the media item left drag only has limited set of actions available. One way around would be to assign the item lock action to eg. left click in media item mouse modifiers. Then it would be drag & drop followed by a modifier plus a click.

Then again, if you're going to do the extra click over the item, you could as well have the Locked/Not locked media item buttons visible (Preferences/Appearance/Media) and do it from there.

All these have of course the extra step because we don't have the option for the copied media items to keep the original locking state, but well...

yep! Thanks. I have made a request yesterday. I don't understand the benefit of current behaviour. Any idea? if same happened in mute state it would be a bug! maybe this should be considered too?
