Default Can't see unique string Id in Action List anymore

When I was doing the EuCon software, I recall having to look up by unique string rather than Command Id because Id could vary from run to run in things like SWS extensions.

Is my old brain playing tricks, or is that unnecessary now, can we just use Command Id ?

They can vary if extension plugins are installed, updated or uninstalled. (AFAIK Reaper itself has been pretty good at keeping the command IDs the same through the years for its own actions.) So you should definitely keep on using the unique strings to keep track of the actions.

Thanks, thought so, but the issue is I can't see the unique strings in the action list anymore (Mac OS X if that matters).

If I can't see them, users can't either, and therefore can't use them in custom control surface maps.

Am I missing an option to display them in the action list ?

Thanks, no, that's the point, those Ids can change (Windows WM_USER+), depending on conditions.

What's needed is the unique string, but you can't see that in the Action List anymore, at least I can't

Only actions provided by extensions, scripts and custom actions have a string ID. The built-in ones only have the numeric ID.

You should see this when "Show action IDs" is enabled:

Haha, thanks man, it WAS my old brain failing, I don't currently have SWS installed, that's why I don't see them
