Default REQ: special freeze script? anyone?

Howdy script guys... [I'm not one or I'd do this myself ]
I see a 'need' for a script and wonder if anyone might take up the task?

I can create this as a custom action but it uses a few other lua's from various authors and I'm thinking for other users it might be better as its own simple, single script.

Here is what it does:

1-freezes a selected track
2-duplicates that frozen track so it shows right below the original
3-selects the original track and un-freezes it and mutes that original track
4-selects the dupe track and unlocks the item[s] on that duplicate
5-unselects all [tracks, items, env's]

So the end result is we get the original track left as it was before anything happened, but it is now muted... and
We get a new track below it with the wav file from the original that is available as an editable item.

Whatchathink?

PS: for what its worth, here the custom action I use that works OK

Custom action name:
SPECIAL FREEZE

Script: Archie_Track: Copy track color.lua
Track: Freeze to stereo (render pre-fader, save/remove items and online FX)
Track: Duplicate tracks
Xenakios/SWS: Select previous tracks
Track: Unfreeze tracks (restore previously saved items and FX)
Xenakios/SWS: Set selected tracks record unarmed
Track: Toggle mute for selected tracks
Xenakios/SWS: Select next tracks
Script: Archie_Track: Paste track color.lua
Item: Select all items in track
Item properties: Unlock
Track: Unselect all tracks

you can see it depends on both SWS ext. and the lua's by Archie... if you don't care about the color, the Archie lua's can be removed

Why not duplicate first, before freezing, and then mute. Then freeze the duplicated track. And that's it. Not?

could work also I think... just went about it as I did... to end up with the unlocked item as the wav file...

I think your idea would work too... but now I already have it working nicely so good enough... I may try your way later...

EDIT: PS OK here is the dupe first method

Custom action name:
Special Freeze 2

Track: Duplicate tracks
Xenakios/SWS: Select previous tracks
SWS/AW: Toggle click track mute
Xenakios/SWS: Set selected tracks record unarmed
Xenakios/SWS: Select next tracks
Track: Freeze to stereo (render pre-fader, save/remove items and online FX)
Item: Select all items in track
Item properties: Unlock
Xenakios/SWS: Set selected tracks record unarmed
Track: Unselect all tracks

works nicely

Thanks for pointing to that Heda... works semi OK but for my intentions I like the custom script ways better... cuz I can unlock the frozen item as part of the game... and can include things like color settings if I want.

This leaves the newly made wav file ready to mess around with in one click while still preserving the original midi vsti track...
