Default media explorer playrate control?

has anyone made anything for setting the playrate when previewing files in the media explorer?

in general, i feel like the media explorer's preview functions are a little odd as the design is different than the timeline window: no scrollbars when zooming on large files, no playrate control. seems odd that there is a pitch control but no playrate control.

i preview a lot of long, spoken-word files and wish i had more playback control since i often edit at playrates greater than 1.0 and wish i had more control and variability, like the playrate slider on the transport or most nles' jkl key functionality.

anyway, just curious if this already exists someplace. posted in another forum but got no useful answers and found nothing in the manual.

thanks,
babag

Is the playrate settable in any way? Like the gui or an action or via contextmenu, etc?

yeah. i think that question is implicit in what i asked. not sure if there is even access to these kinds of control. i wouldn't know what to look for but hoping someone skilled in scripting could shed some light.

thanks,

Well that's probably the most important thing.
If it can be done in the first place, even if only by clicking something, scripting it could be possible, but if it's not possible at all, you should place a feature-request first.
We can not influence the playback-engine of the media explorer apart from the actions existing as far as I know.

So a feature-request is probably your best bet on this one...
