Ah, wires crossed. It seems to only be Change Note Position (Wheel). Can do that with ALT+Wheel.
Everything else in your script, I need to learn

Hey Stephan!
May i ask you to modify a script you already published befor a little bit for me (and hopefully for others).
I really like 'Hide tracks without items and ignore folders'
Would it be possible just to hide empty tracks of a specific folder, and than to toggle back. Would be really helpful, while using my standart template.
Thanks a lot for your work!

Hey euphor, I had planned to code something like that but this would imply some kind of tagging system.
And since HeDa has already implemented a very complex solution for that in Track Inspector, I’m now using this. I can only recommend you give it a try.

Do i maybe require the VIP version?

Hi there Stevie!
Wondering if you have time to lend a coding hand...
I can't get these scripts of yours to work;
"sr_Nudge note start right to next grid - grid.lua"
"sr_Nudge note end right to next grid - grid.lua"
I can substitute
"sr_Nudge note end right to next grid - grid.lua"
with
"Edit: Lengthen notes one grid unit"
They seem to have the same functionality
These do work as expected;
Script: sr_Nudge note start left to previous grid - grid.lua
"sr_Nudge note start left to next grid - grid.lua"
"sr_Nudge note end left to next grid - grid.lua"
Reaper 6.07
OS X 10.9.5
Thanks
/Jonas

Yes, it’s the VIP version, but totally worth it. HeDa continuously adds new features and he’s a great guy
I still have a video tutorial for TI on my todo list.

Hey Jonas,
yes I think someone already mentioned that there was an issue with these scripts. Have to look into it.
Have quite a bit of work to do for the next 2 weeks, but after that period I will fix it.

Hey Stevie!
Many thanks for your work! I have a question
I get this error message when trying to use your toggle solo for bus01 scripts:
Code:
sr_Toggle solo by track prefix function.lua:18: attempt to get length of a nil value (upvalue 'track_prefix')
I tried to figure out what the script is looking for other than BUS01 at the beginning of the track name but I couldn't get it right. Any ideas?
Also, I've been using your "Send selected tracks to BUS01 and remove master send" scripts indispensably for a long time now. Thank you very much for that. I've actually adapted them to look for "All Drums" instead of "BUS01." Thanks for your time and work on your scripts!

Small update: working on a lot of stuff in parallel, but currently my main focus is a split (scissors) tool. But trying to catch up with the bug fixes mentioned in the various posts ago.
Here's a quick one:
22.05.2020
Delete all CCs not attached to notes
This script will delete the CC nodes (from all CCs) that are not affecting notes.

Many thanks for your new script "Delete all CCs not attached to notes"!
After record some takes with breath controller and keyboard, clean up all the irelevant cc events outside any notes is done very handy - the recorded midi data ready to edit where required...
Will be my new reaper tool friend to be musically every other day with *smile*

Hello!!! Thank You for the scripts!
I was wondering how can I get rid of the message
using the nudge notes to left\right 10 ticks
I made it 1 tick
ok
but everytime I need to nudge notes
the window appear that says error the source is looped blabla
So
the last note should be shorten I guess?
I enabled the option "allow notes to extend the media item, but it doesn't help
also the windows woth the error appear b
but it still nudges notes
so it's useless I guess
ok I guess I just need to find it in the code.. ok I'll do this right now
yes, I made it! Thank You
I still don't understand the meaning in that message or any
the script still works

Ah yeah, I see what you mean. Actually the popup message should only come up, when the notes would cross the boundaries of the item. Will look into it.

I think I love this lol. Can you offer a few examples on how you would use these please, in the midi editor window? You mention the values can be changed in script. How could you use this?

I personally would add these commands to the toolbar or shortcuts on my keyboard to toggle select the most used CCs.
For creating additional scripts you can take the "sr_Toggle select CC1.lua", rename it to a different CC like "sr_Toggle select CC28.lua". Then you open the script and edit the following line:
Code:
local dest_cc = 1 -- CC
to
Code:
local dest_cc = 28 -- CC
save the file, import it into your action list, job done

Thanks for that. Still a little confused though. So is it similar to the existing actions of like "CC: Set CC lane to 113" and whatnot? Select the lane in CC view or is this action of yours selecting the data itself regardless of if the lane is visible?
You are a genius either way

Yes, the latter Is correct. With this action you can select/unselect the corresponding data in the CC lane. Even if it’s not visible. However, not sure how useful that would be 😅
In a second step you can then alter the selected CC data (using Julian Sader’s mutlitool, or deleting all the selected CCs, or moving it, etc...).

change note length mousewheel
Hello Stevie,
thank you for effort in making these scripts.
I have a question regarding the script sr_Change note lenght (mousewheel).
I can´t get it running with my mousewheel.
I tried to give it an extra key command, but the notes increase in length as soon as I press this key (no mousewheel used yet)
Am I doing something wrong setting this up?
Thank´s in advance

Hmm, it should work out of the box, when you assign it to your mouse wheel. Can you give more details? A GIF would be the best to track this down.

Hello Stevie,
thank you for the quick reply.
I will atach a few pics in a minute or so.
But just asked: Shall this be set up as mouse modifier or should I asign a shortcut key (but this way it just grew my notes looooooooong when pressing the key
and not waiting for any mousewheel to be used)
But mouse modifiers won´t work either, because mousewheel is not an option there with notes, right?

Hi Stevie, hope you're doing well,
You've done amazing work. I've been in and out of Cubase and Reaper a few times already. Cubase being my main DAW at work but Steinberg recently broke all my templates with C11 there addition of the Scale Assistant. If you had midi modifiers in your templates, which I do on all instrument tracks, well they're now locked to a locrian scale by default so not only all of my tempaltes are wreaked, all of my un-rendered projects too. I had 3 choices, keep working with C10.5, fix everything on C11 or update my Reaper templates.
Well long story short. I'm back at Reaper but this time, it looks like I'm here to stay. I recently bought a Console 1 and a Stream Deck XL so the infinite amount of action Reaper can do paired with the infinite amount of shortcuts the Stream Deck can host has me completely amazed. As for the Console 1, having a instance on all tracks was making Cubase crash half the time on shutdown or took 3 minutes to close a project. With Reaper, it's like closing a Chrome tab.
Anyway, we had chatted on the previous times I was working with Reaper and I'm very impressed by all the scripts you've made. It's definitely going to help smooth out the transition for me once more.
I might ask you a few questions in the weeks to come. I hope that's ok. Here's my first one :
You've made a script for the play cursor to keep playing when sending the cursor to the start of an item. I was using a Cycle Action with a, "if play, play". Both work great it the Main window but I cant make either of them work in the midi editor. Am I missing something? You can see the exacte Cycle Action I'm using in this thread I started earlier. https://forum.cockos.com/showthread....46#post2372346
Thanks again,

Hey fbeauvaisc!
I can totally feel your pain concerning Cubase.
It's been the main reason I moved over to Reaper.
Glad to help on your quest to migrate over to Reaper.
So feel free to ask.
Concerning your first question: there is a simple solution to the issue.
You either need to set the global mode for the script shortcut in the main action window (this will always reserve the shortcut to assigned script)
OR you search in the MIDI Editor action list for "Pass through key to main window" and add the same shortcut from the main action list. You can assign as many shortcuts you want. Hope that helps!

Wow that worked great! I'm realizing it only works with items and not selected note within the events. Is there a way? All I found was first note of item or event.
Thanks

In an unrelated matter, is there a way to stop Ctrl + mouse wheel from resizing the tracks height? I'm always seem to accidently changing track size and I would prefer to use shortcuts to recall specific sizes. On Cubase I often recall all tracks to 4 rows or 2 rows and then shortcuts for selected tracks.

Ok so here I go, I'll write the few things that are still bit strange for me with Reaper. There aren't that much. Between the interactive toolbar, Reaticulate and you scripts found on this thread, I'm very comfortable already.
That being said,
I'm still not 100% at home with the way the action to send the cursor to the start of an item without stopping playback is handled. If we could change the "start of an item" to "start of selection" that would include midi notes and markers but mostly notes in the midi editor, I'd be super happy. This is oddly the most important thing for me to get working. I use a shortcut directly on my mouse to trigger that action. It's really become vital to my workflow.
I absolutely love your script that zoom automatically to the item content in the midi editor. I've assigned that to my default F2 shortcut to open the editor but I'd still love to figure out how to have it work when I simply double click an item. I feel it should not be too complicate but if have any thoughts on the how to, I'd be glad to hear it. Mouse modifiers maybe.
And lastly, I've started using you script to render instruments without FX. It's great but it does not render audio tracks so I'd need a second action to do both. I've created a custom action that can do both. So here it is, you tell me if you see any issues may have overlooked :
And then one last thing I'll miss from Cubase is the way folders allow to rearrange sections. In Cubase, I always have a top folder that includes all tracks for that purpose.
So there you go, I'm almost there. If you can provide any suggestions, I'd appreciate enormously. Is there any way we can donate to you guys, I feel I own a lot to the great Reaper coders. I gave too much money to Steinberg without any form of support so I'm more than happy to help out when I can.
Cheers,
|

Ok so double clicks on items can be assigned an action. Forgot I was working with Reaper. One more thing solved.
