dynamics plugins before the signal prints to my HD

Hello, Dear Reapers, I have come back to Reaper as my main DAW and I thought I remembered being able to have my dynamics plug-ins applied to the signal before it was printed/written to the hard drive. Am I just not remembering this correctly? Thanks so much, in-advance, for your help.

No problem. It's a separate fx chain that may be hidden by default in your theme, but it's thoroughly explained in the user guide.
